Rhode Island Hospitals Contribute $6.7 Billion to Local Economy

Rhode Island hospitals boosted the state’s economy by $6.7 billion last year, according to a report (pdf) by the Hospital Association of Rhode Island.

Hospitals in the state paid 21,100 employees $1.9 billion in wages, spent more than $1.3 billion on goods and services and are dedicating $122 million to capital improvements in facilities and technology.
