RCM tip of the day: Execute better care coordination

As hospitals and health systems move from fee-for-service payments to novel pay-for-performance contracts, it is crucial they keep a healthy revenue cycle management strategy.

John Wallace, vice president and general manager of ACO services for McKesson's Business Performance Services: Providers need to work with local communities to identify where better outcomes can be achieved and build as many data bridges as possible. This should include parties that have not traditionally been within a patient's care team such as pharmacist or post-acute care provider, in settings such as homecare or hospice.
