Richard A. Franco, FHFMA

Mr. Franco was a Regional Chief Finance Officer for Presence Health, a faith based healthcare system in Chicago, IL. Richard has proven expertise in strategic and operational financial management within multi-hospital health systems and brings with him more than 25 years of health care finance experience. During his tenure, Richard has co-led several successful physician focused initiatives to improve clinical documentation, service line resource utilization and hospital length of stay. He has also championed successful process improvement teams focusing on labor, supply chain, and revenue cycle management.
Prior to joining Presence Health, Richard held the position of CFO for several hospitals in the Phoenix, AZ market, working for Vanguard Health Systems, a for-profit health system consisting of full-service hospitals in Arizona, Texas, Massachusetts, Illinois and Michigan. Richard has held similar CFO positions with Community Health Systems and Health Management Associates.
Mr. Franco currently serves on the National Advisory Council on Strategy for the Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA) and serves as Treasurer for the First IL chapter of HFMA in Chicago, IL. He is also an adjunct lecturer for the University of Illinois, Chicago; teaching healthcare finance in the School of Public Health and Administration.
Mr. Franco earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Florida Atlantic University, Boca Raton, FL and holds a Master’s of Business Administration degree from Grand Canyon University, Phoenix, AZ. Mr. Franco is holds a Fellow certification with the Healthcare Financial Management Association.
