The project will add 60,000 square feet to the facility and will include renovations on 135,000 square feet, as well as two new inpatient floors and a modernized surgery center.
Highlighted below are some of the features of the expansion plan.
- New fifth and sixth level floors on the east tower with private rooms
- Semi-private rooms on numerous floors will be converted to private rooms
- The surgery center will be standardized to improve safety and efficiency
- Relocation and remodeling of the sterilization and decontamination area to improve flow to and from the surgery area
- New energy-saving and sustainable features will reduce energy consumption at Methodist by roughly 10 percent
