Optum to manage revenue cycle services of Tennessee hospital

Tennessee Valley Healthcare System in Nashville began a new contract with Optum May 18 to manage revenue cycle services, according to Clarksville Now.

Under the contract, Optum Public Sector Solutions will manage TVHS' provider network and process claim payments on behalf of the hospital. TVHS is a hospital within the Department of Veterans Affairs.

Optum will fully replace TriWest Healthcare Alliance as the manager on July 16. The change is part of a larger contract. Optum was chosen to manage the administrative services of VA hospitals in three regions in the U.S. under a $55 billion contract.
