Novant Health Posted a $39.3M Profit in Q1

Winston-Salem, N.C.-based Novant Health posted a $39.3 million profit for the first quarter of 2014.

Novant had a $15 million increase in revenues, bringing in close to $900 million in operating revenue in the first quarter. The health system also had a more than $40 million rise in expenses in the first quarter, according to a Triad Business Journal report.

Over the last several years, Novant has steadily posted operating gains. During the first quarter of 2013, Novant posted a $79.1 million profit from operations and investments. The health system ended 2013 with a net profit of $273 million, according to the report.
