Geisinger Health System Has $7.4B Economic Impact

A new report by The Hospital and Healthsystem Association of Pennsylvania has found Danville, Pa.-based Geisinger Health System contributed more than $7.4 billion to the local, regional and state economy in fiscal year 2013.

Geisinger Health System employs more than 21,000 people and also supports more than 36,664 jobs in Pennsylvania, according to the news release

“Geisinger plays a significant role in elevating the health, economic and social well-being of the communities we serve,” said Frank J. Trembulak, executive vice president and COO at Geisinger Health System. This new report “is evidence of Geisinger’s position as a major employer and economic driver.”
