New Mexico is the most recent addition to the 16 states and the District of Columbia that have opted to make more poor residents eligible for Medicaid, but it is only the second Republican-governed state to do so behind Nevada.
Wyoming Gov. Matt Mead (R) in his State of the State address Wednesday stopped short of a recommendation, but he asked lawmakers to consider the risks and benefits of a Medicaid expansion in 2014.
