Mr. Young donated $10,000 through his foundation, Trae Young Elite, to eliminate $1,059,186.39 in medical debt. Through RIP Medical Debt, Mr. Young’s donation will be used to buy medical debt for pennies on the dollar to forgive it. On average, 570 people will see $1,858 in medical debt alleviated.
“The city of Atlanta has welcomed me with open arms,” Mr. Young said. “Giving back to this community is extremely important to me. I hope these families can find a bit of relief knowing that their bills have been taken care of as we enter the New Year.”
