MU Health Care contributes $250M for university's $1.5B strategic plan

Columbia-based University of Missouri Health Care is providing $250 million toward the university's strategic plan, which costs a total of $1.5 billion, The Center Square reported Dec. 21.

The plan will add faculty and staff, increase salaries and improve facilities over the next 10 years. MU Health Care already provides 1 percent of its net revenue to the university every year, according to the report.

"MU Health Care has been growing well over the last several years," Christian Basi, director of University of Missouri media relations, told the publication. "This $250 million projection incorporates the expectation of what they would be able to provide the university based on their future growth while continuing the expectation of the 1 percent contribution from their net revenue annually."
