Here are three things to know about the agreement.

1. Under the agreement, Navicent will manage the 25-bed rural hospital in a setup like the one it has with Oconee Regional Medical Center in Milledgeville, Ga. Oconee Regional has said their relationship with Navicent provides support financially, operationally and clinically, and allows the hospital to continue to be locally-governed and locally-managed.

2. MCH CEO Kay Floyd doesn’t expect any layoffs at the hospital after Navicent steps in. However, she does expect Navicent physicians to provide services in MonroeCounty and also anticipates new physicians to be hired, according to the report.

3. A final agreement is due by the end of 2015. Ms. Floyd told WMAZ that Navicent will open a half a million dollar line of credit in about six weeks for MCH.
