Five things to know:

  1. Molina Healthcare is helmed by CEO Joseph Zubretsky and CFO Mark Keim. Both held previous roles with Aetna.
  2. Mr. Zubretsky is one of 34 payer executives on America’s Health Insurance Plans’ board.
  3. Molina was ordered to pay $17.5 million in damages after a Texas jury ruled in June the company had failed to fully reimburse emergency room physicians. 
  4. San Diego’s city attorney sued Molina Healthcare, Kaiser Permanente and HealthNet June 25 for misleading members with inaccurate provider directories.
     
  5. The company generated revenue of $19.4 billion in 2020, earning it the seventh spot among health insurers that made Fortune’s 500 list.
