Michael Brandon, the hospital’s controller, told board members last month the hospital collected $598,179 through self-pay patients this year, compared to $922,990 a year prior. At the same time, the hospital saw uncompensated care costs of $2.1 million.
The hospital board will assess if any policy changes are required, as well as customer service versus customer accountability, at the board’s next meeting.
