There are 500 unfilled community health worker positions in Ohio at any given time, according to an Oct. 11 news release from MetroHealth.

The health system hopes to recruit 240 trainees over the next three years, using most of the grant to help trainees with application costs, transportation or other fees they may incur as they enroll and train with the health system.
