Kadlec to consolidate billing, affecting 20 employees

Richland, Wash.-based Kadlec health system is consolidating billing, a decision that could cost 20 employees their jobs, according to TV station KEPR.

Kadlec said in a statement issued Sept. 18 that hospital billing functions at the Richland business office will consolidate into the Portland, Ore. and Liberty Lake, Wash., business offices. Current Kadlec employees will have the opportunity to apply for jobs in the Portland and Spokane areas, and remote positions may also be available.

"Kadlec and [affiliate Renton, Wash.-based] Providence [Health and Services] have been focused on modernizing and simplifying the administrative side of healthcare to support our mission," Kadlec said. "As part of this work, our revenue cycle groups are aligning to support the partners across the organization."

Kadlec told KEPR health system employees affected by the move will have their current jobs through November.
