ICD-10 Code-A-Thon Presentation Says “ICD-10 Will Change Everything”

PowerPoints from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services’ Code-a-thon are now available on the CMS website.

Both CMS and the American Academy of Professional Coders gave presentations on ICD-10 changes healthcare providers can expect. The CMS presentation gives an overview of what the changes entail, the time line for implementation and why the code system is changing. The AAPC presentation, titled “ICD-10 Will Change Everything,” provides information on how ICD-10 will affect specifically physician practices as well as case examples of codes that will change.
