One often overlooked detail of the program could have huge implications on providers’ revenue cycle. Under MACRA requirements, Medicare Beneficiary Identifiers — randomly-assigned 11-digit codes — will replace all Social Security-based health insurance claim numbers, likely increasing the risk of patient misidentification.

During an Oct. 17 webinar sponsored by Imprivata, Sean Kelly, MD, CMO of Imprivata and Jordanna Davis, president of Rockingstone Group, will discuss how health systems can employ preemptive strategies to lessen the impact MACRA could have on their revenue cycle efficiency, EMR integrity and ultimately, patient safety.

The experts will discuss how to understand MACRA’s impact on patient identification, how to create a link between a patient and his or her medical record, and how to identify the best practices to ensure data integrity.
