Pittsburgh-based Highmark Health gifted Hershey, Pa.-based Penn State Cancer Institute a $25 million grant to advance specialized cancer care treatments and expand research opportunities, according to Trib Live.
The $25 million grant is part of a $1 billion partnership between insurance giant Highmark and Hershey-based Penn State Health. The partnership's goal is to create more medical facilities outside major cities in Pennsylvania.
Penn State Cancer Institute plans to use the grant to invest in new cancer treatment drugs, advance clinical trials and recruit scientists.
