Below are three things to know about the service.

1. BillCrew is an online network that connects patients who have large medical bills with experts who can help identify billing errors and reduce their medical charges.

2. After contacting BillCrew online, the patient is matched with a billing advocate within 24 hours. Medical billing advocates then can assess the patient’s situation, analyze his or her bill, identify errors and overcharges and negotiate the bill on the patient’s behalf.

3. BillCrew touts itself as a personalized solution for helping consumers navigate complex billing issues. “Our goal is to make the entire process as personal as possible,” said Iulia Iiut, one of BillCrew’s co-founders. “Patients will be connected to dedicated advocates who will take the time to learn the intricacies of particular situations and work hard to find the maximum savings.”
