The Singing River board of trustees met Wednesday, but did not make a decision regarding a recommendation by Jackson County supervisors to fund the pension through the middle of July.
On Thursday morning, the trustees were not supporting the idea of the extension, according to the report.
The system’s failed pension plan has been the center of controversy for several months and has even led to Singing River becoming the subject of a criminal investigation.
