For-profit hospital stock report: Week of Oct. 1-5

All five major for-profit hospital operators saw their stock prices fall last week.

Franklin, Tenn.-based Community Health Systems saw the greatest decrease in share price at 19.1 percent.

Here's how the five operators stacked up as of Oct. 5:

  • Community Health Systems (Franklin, Tenn.): $2.80 per share (down 19.1 percent)
  • HCA Healthcare (Nashville, Tenn.): $138.97 per share (down 0.1 percent)
  • LifePoint Health (Brentwood, Tenn.): $64.39 per share (down 0.02 percent)
  • Tenet Healthcare (Dallas): $27.73 per share (down 2.6 percent)
  • Universal Health Services (King of Prussia, Pa.): $125.30 per share (down 2 percent)
