For-profit hospital stock report: Week of Jan. 25-29

All five of the major for-profit hospital operators saw their stock prices rise last week.

Dallas-based Tenet Healthcare saw the largest increase in share price, with shares rising 7.6 percent last week.

Brentwood, Tenn.-based LifePoint Health saw its share price rise 3.5 percent last week, the least of any of the major for-profit hospital operators.

Here is how the five operators’ stock prices stacked up last week.

  • Community Health Systems (Franklin, Tenn.): $21.48 per share (up 7.4 percent)
  • Hospital Corporation of America (Nashville, Tenn.): $69.58 per share (up 5.7 percent)
  • LifePoint Health (Brentwood, Tenn.): $69.79 per share (up 3.5 percent)
  • Tenet Healthcare (Dallas): $26.97 per share (up 7.6 percent)
  • Universal Health Services (King of Prussia, Pa.): $112.64 per share (up 4.8 percent)
