The one-story Robinson Residence is part of the hospital’s Hospice of the Comforter facility in Altamonte Springs, Fla. It is one of the last freestanding hospice residential facilities in the state, according to the article.
Officials said hospital employees will work with the facility’s four current residents and their families to find alternative care options or transfer patients to the Orlando-based Adventist Care Center nursing home, where the hospital will continue to provide for the patients’ room, board and hospice care.
Altamonte Springs, Fla.-based Adventist Health is the parent company of Florida Hospital.
“We are confident there are resources in central Florida and system support for homeless patients needing end-of-life care,” hospital officials said in a statement.
