Fitch upgrades rating on Children’s Hospital Medical Center of Akron to ‘AA-‘

Fitch Ratings upgraded the rating to “AA-” from “A+” on Children’s Hospital Medical Center of Akron’s bonds.

The upgraded bonds for the Ohio-based medical center include:

  • $100.5 million of series 2013 hospital improvement revenue bonds
  • $94.6 million of series 2012 hospital improvement revenue bonds

The ratings upgrade is based on a number of factors, including the medical center’s robust financial profile and regional growth strategy.

The outlook was revised to stable from positive.
