Fitch downgrades Valley Medical Center to ‘BBB’

Fitch Ratings downgraded Renton, Wash.-based Valley Medical Center’s series 2010A bonds, series 2010B bonds and its issuer default rating to “BBB” from “BBB+.”

The downgrades are a result of VMC’s weakened liquidity and high leverage ratio. Fitch favorably viewed VMC’s leading market share and growing patient volume.

The outlook is stable at the lower rating.
