Fitch assigns ‘A-‘ rating to Penn Highlands Healthcare

Fitch Ratings assigned its “A-” rating to DuBois, Pa.-based Penn Highlands Healthcare’s proposed $158.4 million series 2018 revenue bonds.

The assignment is based on several factors, including the health system’s dominant market position, improved operating performance and good leverage position. Fitch also acknowledged Penn Highlands Healthcare’s weaker service characteristics.

The outlook is stable.
