Fitch assigns ‘A-‘ rating to Anne Arundel Health System’s bonds

Fitch Ratings assigned the “A-” rating to Annapolis, Md.-based Anne Arundel Health System’s series 2017A and 2017B, affecting $58.4 million of debt.

In addition, Fitch affirmed its “A-” rating on the health system’s series 2014, series 2012, series 2010 and series 2009B.

The assignment and affirmation are a result of several factors, including the health system’s favorable market share, adequate liquidity metrics and affiliation with Baltimore-based Johns Hopkins Health System. Fitch also acknowledged the AAHS’ higher debt burden and lower operating income.

The outlook is stable.
