Greenville, N.C.-based ECU Health recorded operating income of $113.5 million (4.6% operating margin) through the third quarter of fiscal 2026, up from $91.5 million (4% margin) during the same period last year, according to its July 31 financial report.
Four things to know:
1. ECU Health reported total operating revenue of $2.5 billion through the first nine months of fiscal 2026, up from $2.3 billion during the same period last year. Net patient revenue totaled $2.3 billion, up from $2.1 billion.
2. Total operating expenses were $2.4 billion through Q3, up from $2.2 billion. Salaries, wages and employee benefits totaled $1.3 billion, up from $1.2 billion. Supply expenses totaled $576.4 million, up from $518.1 million.
3. The system reported a net income of $143.4 million through Q3, up from $84.7 million during the same period last year.
4. ECU Health named Brian Dunn as CFO on July 29, succeeding Andy Zukowski, who exited the role after four years with the system. Mr. Dunn previously served as ECU Health’s senior vice president of finance. He has been with the system since 2011.
