Denver Health seeks $5M budget increase after record losses in 2022

Denver Health is asking the city of Denver for a $5 million budget increase for next year after experiencing record losses in 2022, The Denver Gazette reported Sept. 28.

In the past year, the city has made $737,000 in cuts. If Denver Health's request is approved, its budget will be close to $69 million.

Of $5 million, $1.7 million would go toward employees and services for the Denver Sheriff's Department.

Due to supply chain disruptions, inflation and worldwide shortages, Denver Health said it experienced a $60.8 million net loss in 2022, according to the publication.
