CMS Releases Proposed 2015 Rates for Skilled Nursing, Inpatient Rehabilitation, Psychiatric Facilities

CMS has released proposed prospective payment system rules for fiscal year 2015 for skilled nursing, inpatient rehabilitation and inpatient psychiatric facilities.

Under the proposed rules, aggregate payments to skilled nursing facilities would increase by 2 percent or $750 million in fiscal year 2015. The rule for the inpatient rehabilitation facility prospective payment system would increase reimbursement by 2.2 percent, or $160 million. Inpatient psychiatric facility payment rates would increase by 2.1 percent, or $100 million in increased payments.

CMS will accept comments on all three rules through June 30.
