Last week, CMS approved Washington’s HealthPathWashington initiative — a project that aims to improve the care of state residents enrolled in both Medicare and Medicaid.

Washington Gov. Chris Gregoire said the program focuses on the state’s 115,000 dual eligibles by providing them care in more efficient, “patient-centered” health homes, according to the news release.

Washington expects the project will save the state $14 million over the next five years.
