Below are three things to know.

1. When Margo Karsten was appointed CEO of CRMC in 2014, she said one of her priorities was to address widespread patient complaints about the hospital’s billing system. In 2014, the hospital issued refunds to more than 1,000 patients who were billed multiple times for the same services.

2. The hospital has held a series of public meetings to field patient input on medical bills. CRMC director of finance Brad White is incorporating consumer input, along with advice from a special advisory committee and examples of hospital bills from facilities across the country, to devise a more user friendly medical bill.

3. Ms. Karsten told KGAB she expects the new billing format to debut at the hospital soon.
