CFO Sandra DiPietro: Healthcare financier, teacher and volunteer

Sandra DiPietro became senior vice president and CFO of St. Tammany Parish Hospital in Covington, La., in September, prior to which she was the hospitals controller for nearly 10 years.

Ms. DiPietro began her career as an assistant manager of financial accounting for International Shipholding Corp. before becoming a senior auditor with Ernst & Young. Her switch to healthcare occurred in 1994 when she was hired as a senior accountant for budget and reimbursement for St. Tammany Parish Hospital.

In addition to her role at the hospital, Ms. DiPietro teaches undergraduate and graduate-level healthcare financial management at the University of Phoenix and serves as treasurer on the board of directors for New Heights Therapy Center, a therapeutic equestrian center for individuals with disabilities and special needs.

Ms. DiPietro is also a member of the Active Partnership Finance Committee and a member of the Healthcare Financial Management Association.
