Aurora Health Care operating income slips 8% in 2015: 3 quick facts

Aurora Health Care of Milwaukee posted operating income of $462.4 million in 2015, down 8 percent from the year prior.

Below are three things to know about Aurora Health Care’s 2015 finances.

1. Aurora Health Care recorded revenue of $4.9 billion last year, which was a 4.5 percent increase over revenue of $4.7 billion in 2014.

2. Aurora CFO Gail Hanson attributed the increase in revenue to higher patient volumes at hospitals and clinics along with a price increase from commercial payers, reports Milwaukee Business Journal.

3. The system’s revenue gains were offset by rising expenses, which increased to $4.5 billion in 2015, compared to $4.2 billion the year prior.

4. Aurora ended 2015 with net income of $442.7 million, down 17.9 percent from $539.1 million in 2014.
