Here are six things to know about the group, according to the application.
1. The work group will recommend a standard set of alternative payment model terms, as well as an approach for tracking the progress of adopting alternative payment models.
2. The work group will not set or make policy, nor make formal recommendations to CMS.
3. The work group will consist of 10 to 12 members and will meet over an estimated four-month period starting in July.
4. Members of the panel will be expected to participate, at the very least, in bi-weekly conference calls and one full-day meeting in the Washington, D.C. area, with an average of two to four hours of work per week.
5. CMS asks that candidates have proven strengths in one or preferably more of the following:
- “Deep and broad” knowledge of healthcare payment reform;
- Experience designing and implementing alternative payment models;
- Experience designing approaches for measuring alternative payment model adoption;
- Demonstrated ability to communicate complex healthcare concepts to the public; and
- Experience in working with multiple stakeholders with different perspectives on complex health system issues.
6. Nominations will be accepted online through June 19.
