6 recent donations to healthcare organizations

Several healthcare organizations recently received donations to fund research, advance treatments, improve patient care and start renovations.

Beginning with the most recent donations, here are six gifts, pledges or bequests to healthcare organizations, as reported by Becker's Hospital Review in the last three weeks.

1. Texas Health Resources gets $10M to support Fort Worth hospital expansion
Arlington-based Texas Health Resources received a $10 million gift from the Jane & John Justin Foundation to support the largest construction project in the health system's history. 

2. NASCAR champion gives Novant Health $1.2M
Martin Trulex Jr., 2017's NASCAR Cup Series champion, and his partner Sherry Pollex gave $1.2 million to Winston-Salem, N.C.-based Novant Health May 16. 

3. Children's Hospital of Wisconsin receives $1.5M donation to establish endowed chair
Wauwatosa, Wis.-based Children's Hospital of Wisconsin has received a $1.5 million gift from Hal Leonard Corp. CEO Keith Mardak and his wife, Mary Vandenberg, to establish an endowed chair. 

4. Mount Sinai receives $10M gift to support women's healthcare
New York City-based Mount Sinai Health System received a $10 million gift from Emily and Len Blavatnik, to establish an institute dedicated to women's health research.  

5. Thompson Health gets $4M pledge toward ICU construction: 4 things to know
Canandaigua, N.Y.-based Thompson Health received a $4 million pledge toward the construction of an $11 million intensive are unit at F.F. Thompson Hospital in Canandaigua.

6. Lahey Health gets $1M pledge to increase access to mental healthcare: 3 notes
Burlington, Mass.-based Lahey Health received a $1 million pledge from the Cummings Foundation to support several behavioral health initiatives.
