Here are four things to know about the hospital funding panel.
1. Carlos Beruff, a South Florida Water Management District board member, will serve as chairman of the Commission on Healthcare and Hospital Funding, which Gov. Scott established last week.
2. Only one panel member appointed by Gov. Scott has a medical or healthcare background, according to the report.
3. Florida Agency for Health Care Administration Secretary Liz Dudek and Department of Health Secretary John Armstrong were named co-executive directors of the commission.
4. The panel will have its first meeting in Tallahassee, Fla., May 20, according to the report.
