1. AbbVie donates $100M to enhance access to healthcare, housing in Puerto Rico: 5 things to know
AbbVie, a biopharmaceutical company based in North Chicago, Ill., donated $100 million to improve access to healthcare and housing in Puerto Rico as it struggles to recover from Hurricane Maria. The drugmaker will give $50 million to the Direct Relief organization and another $50 million to Habitat for Humanity International.

2. Indiana research institute receives $33M grant to advance health
The Indiana Clinical and Translational Science Institute has received a $33 million grant from the National Institutes of Health to enhance healthcare in Indiana.

3. Inova raises $26M for cancer institute
At a fundraiser dinner headlined by former President George W. Bush, Falls Church, Va.-based Inova Healthcare raised more than $26 million for its cancer institute.  The money raised at the fundraiser will support a new cancer research and treatment center on Inova’s 117-acre campus.

4. Emory lands $400M grant to enhance healthcare offerings
Atlanta-based Emory University received a $400 million grant from the Robert W. Woodruff Foundation to support the construction of a cancer institute and health science building.
