4 recent donations to healthcare organizations

Numerous healthcare organizations recently received donations to fund research, advance treatments, improve patient care and start renovations.

Here are four recent donations, pledges or bequests given to healthcare organizations by various entities reported by Becker's Hospital Review in the past week, beginning with the most recent.

1. Highmark Health gifts Penn State Health $25M as part of $1B partnership
Pittsburgh-based Highmark Health gifted Hershey, Pa.-based Penn State Cancer Institute a $25 million grant to advance specialized cancer care treatments and expand research opportunities.

2. Anonymous donor gifts $2.5M to Johns Hopkins All Children's to enhance opioid addiction treatment
St. Petersburg, Fla.-based Johns Hopkins All Children's Hospital received $2.5 million from an anonymous donor to enhance treatment services for opioid-addicted babies. 

3. UCLA Health to establish health sciences learning center with $20M gift
Los Angeles-based UCLA Health Sciences received a $20 million pledge from Eugene and Maxine Rosenfeld to help establish a health sciences learning center equipped with simulation training capabilities.  

4. Lucile Packard Children's Hospital renames tower in $1.2B flagship after donors of $20M gift
Palo Alto, Calif.-based Lucile Packard Children's Hospital renamed the south tower of its $1.2 billion flagship facility after Tad and Dianne Taube, the donors of a $20 million pledge.
