$1.6M NIH grant to support postdoctoral training at Medical College of Wisconsin’s Cardiovascular Center

The Milwaukee-based Medical College of Wisconsin’s Cardiovascular Center received a $1.6 million grant from the National Institutes of Health to support a new postdoctoral training program.

The gift will help prepare trainees with doctoral degrees to launch research careers. The training will provide individualized development plans, training in core skills, mentoring teams and industry career options for individuals not seeking careers in academia.

Forty-one scientists and researchers serve as mentors in the program.
