Winner (S.D.) Regional Healthcare Center is planning a $23 million, 28,000-square-foot expansion of its facility, reports The Daily Republic.
Here are four things to know about the expansion.
1. Winner's nearly 70-year-old building will be demolished to make room for construction. However, its laboratory and radiology spaces will be repurposed.
2. Construction includes a clinic, emergency room, operating room and lab and radiology department. A streamlined registration area will also be added.
3. Project funds originate from a low-interest Community Facilities Loan from the U.S. Department of Agriculture and $7 million from donations and pledges.
4. Winner expects all hospital services to continue during construction.
