UPMC Hamot opens OB-GYN practice

Erie, Pa.-based UPMC Hamot created an OB-GYN practice employing eight physicians, Erie Times-News reports.

The practice, called the Magee-Womens Specialty Center, opened at a temporary location in Erie and will ultimately move to Magee-Womens, UPMC Hamot. The center opened Oct. 1 at the temporary location.

UPMC Hamot's COO David Gibbons said the hospital opened the practice in light of three Erie area OB-GYN practice closures, according to the report.
