UF Health Jacksonville (Fla.) is requesting $10 million from state lawmakers torenovate its trauma center, according to WJCT, a local NPR affiliate.
Dean Cocchi, CFO of UF Health, said renovations for the 35-year-old trauma center have been a long time coming.
"We actually have a picture in black-and-white and in color, today. It hasn't changed from a standpoint of the physical plant," said Mr. Cocchi. "So it would basically enable us to modernize the actual areas that we provide this needed care."
The renovations could begin as early as July 1.
