The 48-bed hospital will have room to add 12 beds later and will serve patients recovering from from strokes, head injuries, major physical trauma and other illnesses. The organizations first partnered for a venture in March 2018.
“One of our goals when we began the partnership was to study the need for a separate rehabilitation hospital,” said Kent Riddle, CEO of Mary Free Bed. “Our analysis shows it’s time to move ahead with construction of a new building that will be designed specifically for rehabilitation services.”
