New York City-based NYU Langone received approval from Brookhaven’s (N.Y.) town board during an Aug. 27 meeting to move forward with its $650 million expansion at NYU Langone Hospital–Suffolk in Patchogue, N.Y., a spokesperson for the health system said in an Aug. 31 statement shared with Becker’s.
The expansion includes a seven story, more than 270,000-square foot tower addition, according to an Aug. 27 public hearing packet. It will also include 144 beds, with associated site improvements and variants.
“This is an important step for the community and for the future of healthcare in Suffolk County, N.Y.,” the statement said. “We appreciate the Town’s partnership, as well as the support and engagement of local elected officials, neighbors, and community members, and we look forward to continuing to work together as this project progresses.”
