The news comes as the hospital was recently acquired by Franklin, Tenn.-based Acadia Healthcare.
TrustPoint CEO Jeffrey Woods told Nashville Public Radio the expansion is intended to help minimize the number of patients who must be turned away each month — usually several hundred.
“I think our goal really is to have this hospital [be] the right size for the community’s needs today and for the next decade or two, while reaching out more into the community to make sure we’re reaching them closer to home,” Mr. Woods said, according to the article.
Hospital officials expect to break ground on the expansion next month.
