Summerville Medical Center plans $53M expansion project

Summerville (S.C.) MedicalCenter will undergo a $53 million expansion project, set to be completed by early 2019, according to WCBD News.

The expansion will focus on expanding care services for women and children by adding 30 beds, new labor and delivery rooms, a C-section procedure room and a nursery, according to the article.

As part of the agreement, Summerville will consolidate labor and delivery services from its Charleston, S.C.-based TridentMedicalCenter to its Summerville campus.

Officials will publicly announce the expansion Aug. 25.
