Here are four things to know.
1. The expansion includes 168,000 square feet of additional space.
2. With the project, St. Francis’ emergency department will expand from 23 beds to 48 beds, while the neonatal intensive care unit will expand from 25 beds to 46 beds, according to the report. The hospital will also add additional operating rooms, as well as space to add more beds in the future.
3. Mark Hartman, chief administrative officer of St. Francis, said in the report the hospital will add 50 to 75 employees as a result of the expansion.
4. St. Francis officials expect the expansion project to be completed in early 2019, according to the report.
