The June 21 concert is part of a celebration marking the grand opening of the health system’s new $494 million medical center in Fargo, N.D., which will begin seeing patients July 25.

“This is one of the largest active hospital construction projects in the nation, and our employees worked incredibly hard of the last several years to deliver on our promise to build a new medical center in Fargo,” health system officials said in a statement Monday. “We are thanking them with one evening where they can spend time together celebrating this momentous occasion.”

Sanford Health did not disclose the cost of bringing in the entertainers for the concert.

“The cost of the event is a private contract with the entertainers,” Darren Huber, internal communications director, told the West Central Tribune. “It’s a fraction of a percent of our annual budget.”
