UPMC spokesperson Susan Manko told the publication, “As Hamot continues to grow, we have purchased this space to help accommodate our expansion needs.” She added plans for the space will be shared once confirmed.
The purchase follows several recent additions and renovations UPMC Hamot has pursued in Erie during the past 10 years, according to the report. The projects include the construction of a seven-story, $111 million patient tower set to reach completion in 2020.
